How to Install Mitel 3300 Software Using Xlight FTP Server

Install MCD Software

I normally change from the default directory and install software in C:\Mitel\Software\version

Ignore the error “The FTP service, MSFTPSVC, is not installed”, this is correct as I don’t install IIS.

Click Finish

Now the Xlight FTP Server, after installation start the program and click New Virtual Server.

Add a note if you like and click OK on the defaults.

 Once the server is created click on User List (the single head)

Add a new user

Create a username, I will normally create a different login per software release. Eg. Mcd4.0, mcd4.1, mcd4.0 etc... Check login without password (When logging in from mitel just use an @ symbol for password)

Browse to the folder where the MCD software was extracted.

Click OK, OK.

Now its time to start the server to accept incoming connections

If prompted with a security alert, click allow access. That’s it.
